Alison Conneely

‘The poetry of Blake, the reveries of Plath, the veils of Connemara, I owe my mind to that’

Irish designer, Alison Conneely, has embroidered her own romantic vision for the past six years, combining the scent of old world charm with carefully crafted contemporary elegance. Trained in hide tailoring, milinery, and draping at Central Saint Martins, Alison set up her own label – Emé Vandal in 2007. Her clothes have appeared in Dazed & Confused, Sunday Times Style Magazine, Image, The Gloss and Tatler. This Autumn Winter collection will be her sixth line to date.

The value of tradition, realism and simplicity of form, characteristic of the Antwerp 6 (most notably Dries Van Noten) and philosopher of fashion Hussein Chalayan has encouraged Alison to merge her naturally romantic vision, with a more practical view of the modern woman. Romantic icons working in the great metropolis, melancholic heroines finding their way through the chaos of the crowded streets.
